Bandaχothen

1. General

Bandaχothen is an eight-member music band that mainly performs music by great Greek composers without excluding significant music from other countries or selected compositions of the band. The band was formed from Kostas Spiliopoulos in May 2014 and since then performs music in several famous music stages.

2. The Band's Name

The band’s musicians come from many different musical genres and they bring to the group a lot of precious musical shades. This is the reason for the name Bandaχothen. The word “Bandahothen” is a pun created by the word Band and the ancient Greek adverb “Pandachothen” which means “from everywhere”.

3. Sound

The sound of Bandaχothen is always unique and special. It has the potential to mix the wonderful sounds of bouzouki, saxophone, clarinet, violin, classical and acoustic guitar, with traditional and modern rhythms both from Greece and from the rest of the world. And all through the wonderful voice of a multi-talented singer.

4. Orchestrations

Orchestrations are performed by Kostas Spiliopoulos who handles the group as a Big Band so that the result is unique and really rich in sounds. At the same time, the music projects that the band offers are the results of musicological research on the historical evolution of the role of music in each musical genre.

5. Entertaining

Despite the scientific groundings of Bandaχothen’s work, the performances of the band are not musicological training seminars. Instead, Bandaχothen’s gigs are entertaining musical presentations that appeal to people of all ages and musical preferences.

6. The Band's Plans

Τhis season, Bandaχothen works in studio preparing the creation of its first single named “Europa Sin Verbos” which will soon be in circulation. At the same time it prepares a series of live shows with a completely new program and aims to reach a larger audience in order to spread its sound and its music.
